Worst healthcare company in the New River Valley

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
During my time at Interim Home Health in Christiansburg I witnessed the most poorly run bussniess of my medical career. Upper management strategically fired our DON and Admin in the same day, after interviewing the entire staff and attempting to get the staff to make false allegations against them. A member of the staff was denied proper PTO payout after having to resign due lack of patients, and poor marketing strategies. The owner was contacted numerous times to discuss conerns, of which no one got a response. There has been an entire turnover in the last 3 months of all office staff/nurses. Good employees leave because of poor management. Think twice about working at this office as the entire office staff has resigned, a few not even working out a notice. Beware!

Tried to steal my unused vacation time

Human resources said that they didn't have to pay me. I googled 'wage theft'. It is common practice with many employers. It is a crime and you can file criminal charges against them. You don't have to have any documentation to prove anything. That is the company's responsibility. I called them back and told them my attorney said they have to pay me. I had my check within a few days via certified mail. ANYTHING you earned cannot be withheld from you for any reason. SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

*** up managment

Treating my wife like *** Who has a BS degree in Nursing and you let some mexican *** 10 buck an hour *** *** that does not even make money for you order her around like a piece of garbage? what the *** your RNs are at the pointy end of the spear actually making money for your *** hole company putting money in your pocket and you are going to let the lowest person in the organization berate them? Literally RNs can jump ship and have a job within hours of telling you to *** off? what are you going to tell your customers when you can service them? what are you going to tell your largest contractor? i know what i'm going to tell them.

Advice : If it is truly your intention to "complain up" to anyone , you must , for the sake of your wife's job and dignity , allow her to handle the situation as she sees fit. Your anger is of no benefit in any way to her and will only serve you both detrimentally though it is well that she has chosen to vent to you rather than on the job to co-workers, etc.

My wife is also an RN holding the same degree as yours ; she is sweet and kind but no cupcake when it comes to dealing with difficult people at any level. You're correct about that getting a new job statement - and sometimes that's a fine idea when all factors are considered.

Terrible Agency

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
if you're looking for professional company / look else where The Personal Care aides are are terrible/ steal/ disrespectful. The good ones leave/ because of the rude/ unprofessional staff. The aides are old/ & rude Younger ones are immature / & disrespectful. Example/ Several aides made fun of my health condition. Contacted Wanda/ she laughed about it. When aide was told she did not belong in the healthcare/ Her response was so what/ I'll keep my black *** home. Wanda was told by her actions/ she laughed & stated the aide was good.. Just gave her another assignment Had to call the VA/ to tell the tell them about the aides comments., Other examples / one aide was sent into the grocery store/ she went & spent five dollars on herself/ and tried to to hide/ throw away the receipt/ stating she got everything/ I don't need the receipt. The aides take their personal problems on you. Examples / one aide was debating with her family member on the phone/ utilizing Vulgar language. Then got off the phone & asked what the *** do you need done today. Went to the barbershop/ aide stayed in the car/ eating lunch/ talking on the phone/ running the air conditioner all the time/ for over a hour., Came in the shop & angrily asked how much longer. Went to the bank/ I utilize an walker/ the aide helped me out the car/ & got back in the/ & started talking on the phone./ utilizing the air conditioner all the phone. Greeter @ the bank/ noticed her actions/ & asked is she suppose to be helping you? I replied yes/ Bank employee replied she 's a terrible provider. When aide was told by her actions/ stated you're disabled/ not a baby Agency was contacted / aide was sent on another assignment/ that was her reprimand for her actions. A aide stole my credit card info *...... AND WENT TO A MERCHANT & SPENT $130.00. Put on another assignment/ even though police report was filed. Majority of Aides have rude personalities. .Aides are sent on assignments/ even though PPD shots are not read. CONSTANTLY TALK ON THE PHONE/ when asked to get off the phone. replies are stop complaining/ I'm doing my job. Aides leave early/ then falsify time. Agency is notified/ just put on another assignment. Aides know that's all the staff is going to do/ so they don't basically don't care. If you have canned goods/ aides will put them in their bags Staff is notified/ aides state they didn't do it / end of that. Aides drive your personal vehicle while talking/ texting on the phone. Agency is notified/ just put on another assignment. Aides have clean common areas/ when notified of this. They respond/ I'm not a maid. I can go on & on/ but I believe my point has been taken about this Agency. The owners need to fire / or do some reengineering current one. On the other hand/ Wanda needs to be terminated/ Linda needs sensitivity training on dealing with company associates. Just my personal opinion.

My experience was a lack of communication. The Aide from them complained about their lack of communicating. When the Aide could not come, they very seldom had a replacement, even though the Aide said

Interim dropped my son as a client when they were the ones failing to keep their commitment. If for any reason an Aide could not come, they would make minimum effort to send a substitute.

The most recent excuse was that no one "picked up the shift" SO MY SON HAD NO AIDE FOR 4 DAYS. There were plenty of days prior to us moving where no one came or could be reached. As of this moment, the replacement supervisor has not given ME any reason as to why they are dropping him when we should have dropped them months ago. My complaint on the aides were generic.

We even took the last one out to eat. I realized that assignments came from Interim so if one didn't show, that is who I called, especially if I couldn't reach the aide!!

I never reported the aides for sleeping on the job. Perhaps I should have.

That's what happens when you complain about the aides too much. Either no one wants to come out to your house anymore, or the company eventually runs out of new aides to send you and thus gets rid of you as a client because you are too difficult and time-consuming.

Paycheck was short hours i had worked

I was underpaid for months. Wasn't getting paid for hours that interim was getting paid by the state for my employment. Someone was pocketing the money that should have been paid to me. Its theft, plain and simple. They are aware they owe me, have admitted to it, but refuse to resolvethe issue immediately. I must wait until my next paycheck which does not help me feed my children. My children are suffering for something that was not any fault of my own, but was caused by them keeping part of my check. There is no excuse for it. Its a horrible place to work and ran by a money hungry, selfish phony bi'*h. I plan on filing a complaint. And running a story in the clovis news journal. I have no doubt im not the only employee being ripped off by this sorry excuse of a employer. And they will not get away with it. Messed with the wrong person this time. I will not keep my mouth shut after being treated so unfairly.

Lousy dependency. Aides never show or never assigned.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
During our contract with Interim, there were many occasions that an Aide did not show, for varied reasons. Interim could not or would not provide coverage. When a couple of aides did show, they went to sleep or left early. My paraplegic son seemed to bond with the last aides assigned. But he did nothing unless he was told to. We kept him because he was more dependent than any previous ones. Our mistake! When he had to miss days because of a car accident, Interim advised me that no one else was available to cover. So, instead of cancelling our contract, they cancelled us in a very un-professional way. When my son called to ask where the aide was, he was informed that he was no longer a client. They also told the health insurance rep before advising us. A few days later, we did get a letter, advising us of termination. No time before that date were we provided coverage. What irks me is not once did they give us a reason. And what they told our health care rep were lies. The last time an aide came was July 20 and the contract, per them, ended on August 5th. I will never recommend this place to anyone. I have pictures of 2 different aides sleeping, yet I stayed with this company. I gave them every benefit of doubt.

Beware of Interim Healthcare

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

You can die waiting for this unorganized company to provide services. My wife who has been battling a rare blood cancer for six years.

She recently had brain surgery and came home from the hospital. BlueCross assigned Interim as the in home health care provider. From the beginning it was so unorganized it became a burden as we had to follow up with them everyday to get therapy. It took over a week to get services and then they lied and said they put in for additional therapy.

The original evaluation from the head physical Therapist said my wife was using a walker to walk when she could not even sit up in bed???? The nurses were here for 5 minutes??? It has been over a month since her last physical therapy and this morning after another call to their office asking why they lied and why they have not called since receiving a request from BlueCross last Thursday. They told me they received the wrong authorization.

I called Blue Cross and they said Interim has not called them to say they needed anything.

Battling cancer is a battle to begin with without having to worry about incompetence from care providers. Stay away from Interim if you care about getting better.

Interim Healthcare - Home Care Aides Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I just quit this agency! Horrible,HORRIBLE place to work! I was hired on as a Care manager, the organization is positively absent! Pure and utter chaos! They treat their caregivers like slaves! They do not reimburse for mileage or any other expenses and provide little to NO training to their personal care assistants or managers! They basically gave me a laptop and phone and said GO. The clients they treat them like profit only. They don't care about their care ,they only care about their $$. A client was sexually harrassing a caregiver and her concerns were buried! If you love your family DO NOT use this agency! They ask for a one month deposit on clients "While processing" insurance..don't expect that $$ back. It was horrible! They expected me to go the extra mile and not pay me for mileage or traveling to meetings etc. Or other expenses. I was only on a few months, that was way too long. Don't work for this company! Not as a caregiver, a care manager whatever! Stay away from it,save your self the stress and frustration. And definetly don't use them for a family members care!

Fraud!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was approved by my insurance company for 4 visits from a physical therapist and 4 from a nurse (who were both wonderful). Interim made me sign some authorization "in case" my insurance did not go through. One day out of the blue, my credit card bill with a zero balance, showed I owed $490. Interim charged it without telling me. There turned out to be some glitch with my insurance, which was worked out and I was assured my coverage was in tact at the time of service. 2 months later, another charge for $490. on my credit card!!! It has yet to be worked out on Interims end, but I have alerted my credit card company to this potential fraud and have started a disputed charge report. Nobody needs this type of worry and hassle, especially when you have obviously been injured or sick if you need their services to begin with. Then to have to deal with financial troubles that are fraudulent on top of it!!! I gave 2 stars because the therapist and nurse were great, but the nonsense that followed is ridiculous.

It's NOT fraud when YOU signed an authorization allowing them to charge your card if the insurance did not go through ... did you bother to read before you signed???

It *** sure is when they charge you without warning, they must first notify someone that the insurance did not go through. Also, when an additional charge was billed 8 months after the fact, that is also not right.

Just so you know, I had insurance.

I fought, took it to the Board of Insurance and Department of Financial Services, and been issued ALL of my money back. So to summarize, if they had LEGALLY charged me, I would not have gotten a penny back!!!!!

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!!!! They are shady! They will only give you clients if you kiss their *** and if you decide to get another job because you have to pay bills and they are hardly giving you any work they will take forever to give you your last check. Mine is only for 17 little dollars and it is taking me forever to get it. This is the Dayton/ Springfield area!!!! They will send you out before checking the clients home for bed bugs. They are telling me they dont know where they sent my check. All of the other employees got paid but not me....sounds funny to me. I decide to go elsewhere for employment and they just somehow lost my check. Like 17 dollars is gonna break them. Punishment for me leaving the company I guess.

Interim Healthcare - Customer Care Review from Elyria, Ohio

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had interim health care to help strengthen my one leg while the other healed from surgery. That went fine. They discharged me until they were needed again. I now have a wound vac (through no fault of interim). I called interim yesterday and made an appt for the nurse to come, do the intake and change the dressing. I get a phone call a little while ago from my doctors office saying that interim was refusing to treat me because I have too many dogs and they couldn't set up a sterile environment to do the change the wound vac dressing. It's not a sterile procedure. Even the plastic surgeon that ordered the services said that it isn't. I am so furious over this as well as insulted that if I thought it would do any good I would consult a discrimination lawyer

Interim Healthcare Customer Care Review from Greenville, North Carolina

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Employee of Interim Healthcare; the communication between the office workers to the aides as well as the clients and their families are very poor. Inconsiderate to clients when filling specific hours. If they can't or are too lazy to find someone to fill the clients specified hours, they will move the hours to adjust to whatever the first aide to try and fill in is available for; which might not be the time the clients needs nor wants. Clients then fuss at the aides because they are the ones that are face to face when the problem is the office. When you call and inform the office of a change of plans that are out of your control, they tell you its your fault that you couldn't get in contact with them because its your job to blow up their phones in all the areas within your area (Eastern NC) and leaving voicemails. They also claim they blew up your phone after the fact when the client calls wondering where their aide is. For example, I had 3 clients back to back that were in different cities and called the office days before the shifts started that I would not be able to meet with a fill-in client at their scheduled time and would have to move the time up 2 hours to make it. They office said that the client would most likely not like to be seen that late but they will call back before they actually changed the time or to tell me that they found another person that can fill the time wanted. They never called back to inform me what they decided to do. I call them inbetween my clients during the office hours and inquire what they decided to do and if i still needed to work the shift and they said that they had already changed it and expected it but never called to confirm it since it was still in question when brought up. I told them that was fine but i just needed to know because i dont sit around waiting to pick up shifts and could do something else with that time if im not needed. The second client that i had lasted a little over the time that was scheduled and therefore pushed the time with the last client back even further. I went to call the office to inform them that i would be 30 minutes later then the time that was already pushed back because my previous client lived by herself and needed my assistance as well as my second and third client lived 30 minutes apart. The office from my town got forwarded to another office about 45 mins away because of a lunch break. I talked to someone at the other office to tell them that i would be late and to see if it was still okay to come since they were already upset that someone didnt tell them about the time change until the original shift was supposed to have started. I also needed the address to this clients house since i did not have the sheet that has the addresses of clients on it since i was not aware of if i was attending or not until after i already left for work. She told me that she did not have the address and to call back in 30 minutes to talk to someone from my office that could give it to me. Meanwhile, i stay out and wait 30 minutes to call back so i can get the address to the clients house if I am still welcomed at that time since now time is pushed up another 30 minutes (2.5 hours past original time, 1 hour past reschedule time). No one answers the phone on all 3 numbers i have so i leave a detailed voicemail to let them know to call me back when they get the message because i cant just keep waiting around for someone to call me with the address and could not waste gas on going all the way home to get the address paper and then come back out. They call back about 40 minutes after my voicemail asking why i'm not with my client and that they are upset. I told them that i left i voicemail stating i would hsve been late and that i had talked to someone from another office to inform them of that and that they told me to call back in 30 minutes to get the address and to make sure the client did not change their mind about me coming since the times were still changing. They then told me that they blew up my phone seeing where i was and that it was my responsibility to have that worksheet with the address on it and still go. I told them that i did not have that worksheet (usually when i pick up a new client or forget the address sheet, i call and they give it to me over the phone) and ive been calling trying to get in touch with them for over an hour. They then tell me that its my fault for not communicating with them and that i need to not forget my sheet since i knew i was supposed to go. I tell her that i communicated with them this whole time and seemed to have gotten nowhere and told them that the fact that i didn't recieve that call about the official change when i was supposed to, this all could have been avoided because i would have known in advance that i was going to this clients house that they were sure that they weren't going to like/accept the new time and would have made sure i had the address to give them a concrete time on how long it would take me to leave one client to get to the next. Long story short, they got yelled at by the clients family for an aide not being there at the specific time so they yelled at me and claimed that it was my fault because i failed to communicate. I've had many clients complain about the offices communication that had nothing to do with me so i feel as thought the office should take that into consideration and try to treat their employees better as well.
